For Piano Day Participants, Teachers, and Friends:
Greetings on behalf of MTNA-UW Collegiate Chapter! We are thrilled to have you participating in the fifth annual Piano Day @ UW this Sunday, May 6. We hope it will prove to be a fun and exciting day for all.
Just a reminder that registration begins at 1:15pm in the lobby of Morphy Recital Hall, Mosse Humanities Building (map). Parking is available for a fee at the Lake Street Ramp (map) or for free under Helen C. White Hall College Library (600 N. Park Street). At this time, participants will check in for the afternoon’s activities, pick up a folder including a detailed schedule and other relevant materials, and check out the practice facilities reserved for Piano Day participants.
At 1:35pm, Piano Day @ UW will kick off with masterclasses in room 2551 and 2531. Masterclasses are open to all Piano Day Participants as well as teachers, family, and friends. Please consult the schedule below for your assigned masterclass time. When not participating in a masterclass, participants are encouraged to attend other masterclasses of their choice, but they may also choose to warm up in the reserved practice rooms, relax during free time. Lunch is provided at Piano Day if requested on the registration form. Parents, please remember that MTNA-UW Collegiate Chapter is not responsible for supervising participants, and all participants are expected to be accompanied by an adult for the afternoon’s activities.
After the masterclasses conclude at 3pm, participants may enjoy a brief break to warm-up, change into recital attire, or have a snack at the registration desk. Participants should report to Morphy Hall for the recital by 3:15pm. The recital will begin promptly at 3:30pm. Following the recital, all participants, families, and teachers are invited to a reception in Strelow Lounge on the lower level of Mosse Humanities Building.
